This pairs The Last Days of Pompeii with the game Trouble. This was one of the first books I picked up for this project. I loved that little design on the front and wanted to keep it front and center.
This piece also gave me the most, eh, trouble. I reworked it quite a few times. I needed the pop-o-matic to work. The image on the top is the topographic image of Mount Vesuvius. Layered to give it some height.
Here was one of the early questions of if the book had to open. The earlier ones did not but the idea is really intriguing that these would look like a normal old book with a surprise inside. The height of game pieces makes this less realistic than I’d like.
